Triumph Main Landing Gear Door Actuator Retrofit Program
Developed in partnership with Triumph and Airbus, this initative is designed to ensure retrofit compliance and enhance operational reliability across your Airbus fleet.
Program details
A retrofit and inspection program is active to address a manufacturing quality issue affecting specific Main Landing Gear (MLG) Door Actuators (P/N 114122015) installed on A320 Family aircraft. Internal damage has been found in some actuators due to incomplete peening (locking) of a critical ring, which could compromise the performance of the unit during operation.
Objectives:
- Replace affected actuators identified in Airbus AOT A32N033-24 and Service Bulletin 114122-32-108
- Ensure airworthiness by confirming proper peening of the Locking Ring in the actuator
- Provide cost-free inspection, repair, or replacement of eligible units until 30 December 2026
Operators can choose one of the following inspection methods:
- X-ray or CT scan of the actuator to verify correct deformation (peening) of the Locking Ring
- Disassembly and visual inspection of internal components
- Return of actuators to an approved repair facility for full evaluation
AAR Component Services - Amsterdam, located in Hoofddorp, Netherlands, will coordinate logistics, inspections, and repairs for operators. Responsibilities include:
- Managing the flow of removed actuators between operators and the OEM (Triumph Aerospace UK)
- Supporting inspection by X-ray, CT, or disassembly based on SB 114122-32-108 procedures
- Providing test capabilities and issuing airworthiness confirmation
- Handling shipment tracking and communication with Triumph and airline customers
Program duration
12-18 months (global rollout)
Component Services facilities
We are supporting operators globally through coordinated inspections, testing, and shipping from three of our Component Services facilities:
-
Amsterdam, Netherlands (coordinating facility)
-
Wellington, USA
-
Chonburi, Thailand
Exchange unit availability
Due to limited availability, exchange units are centrally coordinated to reduce downtime and prioritize urgent operational needs.
