Norman R. Bobins is Chairman of The Private Bank – Chicago. He has served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of LaSalle Bank and as head of ABN AMRO's $217 billion North American business. His prior experience includes 14 years at American National Bank and Trust Company.

Bobins is a board of directors’ member for the Global Hyatt Corporation and Nicor, Inc. and has a directorship at RREEF America REIT II, Inc. and Metal Management, Inc. He is on the Executive Committee and is Treasurer of The Financial Services Roundtable.

His many business honors and awards include: Laureate of The Lincoln Academy of Illinois; 2006 Corporate Visionary Award from El Valor; 2005 Harvard Business School Club of Chicago Business Statesman; 2003 University of Chicago Graduate School of Business Distinguished Corporate Alumnus Award and the 2000 Harold Washington College Business Professional of the Year Award.

A native Chicagoan, he currently serves as a board member for the Terra Foundation for American Art and the Children’s Brain Research Foundation. Bobins is an active member of the Chicago School Board, the board of trustees of WTTW Communications, Inc., The Field Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago. He is Chairman Emeritus of the Illinois Business Roundtable and serves on the executive board of the Auditorium Theatre Council.

Bobins earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and his Master’s degree from the University of Chicago. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Public Service from Saint Xavier University.
