| AAR Receives $30 Million Pallet Order from U.S. Air Force
WOOD DALE, ILLINOIS (September 13, 2005) - AAR (NYSE: AIR) announced today that its Mobility Systems division received an order for air cargo pallets from the U.S. Air Force valued at $30 million over the next year.
AAR provides standard pallets used by the U.S. Air Force to transport concentrated cargo. These pallets are designed to be used with the dual-rail cargo systems found on C-17, C-130, C-5 and C-141 military transport aircraft. AAR has been the primary supplier of pallets to the USAF since 1963.
"We are committed to providing the U.S. Air Force, and all our defense customers, with a variety of products and services that improve operational efficiency and mission readiness," said David P. Storch, President and Chief Executive Officer of AAR. "This new pallet order demonstrates how AAR's structures and systems have become an integral part of USAF operations. We look forward to continuing to provide equipment that meets the highest standards of quality and reliability."
Experience gained through the development of AAR's standard pallets has led to the design and manufacture of enhanced pallets and platforms, such as pallets for transport of ISO containers, custom pallets for unique cargo and quick-change palletized seat/galley/lavatory systems for a wide range of military and commercial aircraft.
