AAR ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP APPOINTMENTS FOR RECENTLY ACQUIRED AVIATION WORLDWIDE SERVICES

WOOD DALE, ILLINOIS (April 20, 2010) — AAR CORP. (NYSE: AIR) announced today that current members of AAR’s leadership team will assume key leadership positions at Aviation Worldwide Services (AWS). AAR completed the acquisition of AWS on April 7, 2010. The acquisition strengthens AAR’s ability to support national defense priorities, nation building initiatives, humanitarian relief efforts and government “smart power” initiatives.

Randy Martinez, current Group Vice President, AAR Government and Defense Services, will lead AWS as its President. Martinez will oversee strategic and day-to-day decision-making, growth, operations, profit and loss, customer satisfaction and compliance. Martinez retains responsibility of AAR’s Defense Systems & Logistics, Integration Technologies (formerly AAR Brown International) and Global Solutions businesses. These businesses, along with AWS, will operate as part of AAR’s newly formed Government and Defense Services Group.

Martinez, who joined AAR in March 2009, is uniquely qualified to provide outstanding leadership in these important positions. Martinez, a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and Command Pilot, previously served as CEO of World Air Holdings, Inc.

“Randy is an established and proven leader in our industry with a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience leading sophisticated, large-scale operations,” said David Storch, Chairman and CEO of AAR. “Randy’s commitment to excellence will be invaluable as we grow our government services business and integrate AWS into the AAR family.”

In another move to strengthen and increase its AWS operation, Joe Ford, currently AAR Vice President, Legislative Affairs, is transferring to AWS as Executive Vice President. Ford will have direct oversight of operations and maintenance and assist Martinez in all areas of responsibility. Prior to joining AAR, Ford held positions in Business Development and Government Affairs. During his 25 years of military service, Ford commanded flying organizations at the squadron, group and wing levels.

Additionally, Darrell Sims, Vice President of People Programs for AAR’s Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) segment, will transfer, in the same capacity, into AWS and AAR’s Government and Defense Services Group. His responsibilities include recruiting, retention, professional development, compliance, communications, diversity and all Human Resource responsibilities for AWS. He will report directly to Martinez. Prior to joining AAR, Sims led a strategic IT outsourcing business unit in Dallas. A combat war veteran with 26 years of military service, he commanded at all levels, including flying units.

“This team is uniquely qualified to provide outstanding leadership to AAR and AWS. Working together with AWS’s team, we are confident of a smooth and quick transition that instills AAR’s values, culture and principles, while capitalizing on AWS’s existing strengths and business opportunities,” said Storch.

AWS, through its operating subsidiaries, Presidential Airways and STI Aviation, provides fixed- and rotary-wing flight operations, transporting personnel and cargo in support of worldwide U.S. Department of Defense and Department of State deployments, and performs engineering and design modifications on rotary-wing aircraft for government customers. AWS operates a fleet of 58 customized aircraft, of which 17 fixed-wing and 21 rotary-wing aircraft are currently deployed and 20 rotary-wing aircraft are available for future deployment.

Since 2005, Presidential Airways has flown more than 70,000 missions worldwide, transported 270,000 personnel, and delivered 50 million pounds of cargo and mail. AWS, through its subsidiaries, holds FAR Part 125, 133 and 135 certificates to operate aircraft and an FAR Part 145 certificate to operate a repair station. Presidential Airways is Commercial Airlift Review Board (CARB) certified with the U.S. Department of Defense. STI Aviation has significant engineering expertise and is currently modifying new-production Blackhawk helicopters for delivery to the United Arab Emirates.
