Michael Carr is Vice President, Tax and Assistant Treasurer of AAR Corp.

Mr. Carr joined the Company in May 1990 as Senior Director-Tax, was promoted to Vice President-Tax in December 1994, and then appointed Assistant Treasurer in September 2000.

As Vice President-Tax, Mr. Carr is responsible for worldwide tax strategy, planning, business entity structure, compliance and examinations for all AAR operations and joint ventures.  Mr. Carr manages the overall cash taxes payable and tax expense recorded, for all operations.  As Assistant Treasurer, Mr. Carr is responsible for all internal cash management, including banking systems, investments, disbursements, and credit & collection.  Mr. Carr is also involved in mergers and acquisitions and capital market activities.

Prior to joining AAR, Mr. Carr held positions with KPMG LLP, where he served a variety of public companies, most recently as Senior Manager Tax.   From 1980 to 1986, Mr. Carr was with McDermott International, Inc., an offshore construction and manufacturing company, where he was responsible for tax and treasury functions for McDermott's South East Asia operations.

Mr. Carr earned his bachelor's degree in Economics from Cornell College, a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Tulane University, a Master of Science in Taxation from DePaul University, and he is a Certified Public Accountant (Illinois).  He is also a member of: the AICPA, the Illinois CPA Society, the Tax Executive Institute (Chicago chapter president 2001-2002), and the Treasury Management Association of Chicago.
